Neighborhood highlights

A quaint freindly town within walking distance from the seafront (1 minute) and the town centre (5 minutes).

Hythe, United Kingdom

Stade Cottage is the perfect base for those keen to explore the local area, which has so much to offer – from beautiful coastal scenery, to lots of family attractions and busy seaside town centres.

Situated just a minutes' walk to the gorgeous Hythe seafront, with its lovely promenade guaranteed to blow away the cobwebs - and less than 10 minutes' walk into Hythe town centre, with its vibrant, busy High Street offering an array of lovely shops, cafes and restaurants. The Royal Military Canal runs through Hythe and is a few minutes' walk from Stade Cottage – it makes for a beautiful alternative to the sea front.

Stade Cottage is in a lovely residential area spanning back from Hythe seafront.

There are plenty of family friendly attractions for those looking to keep the children entertained: The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, opened in 1928 is one of Kent's top attractions, along with Port Lympne Zoo – both offering fantastic days out.

Just 5 miles away is Dymchurch, a very family friendly seaside resort with a great little funfair suitable for the younger children - a real hidden gem are the glorious sandy beaches of Dymchurch and St Marys Bay. Simply stunning, and often very quiet, even in the summer. A further 12 miles along the coast is the famous sandy beaches of Camber Sands.

If you fancy a day out with a difference, visit Dungeness - an important ecological site as well as one of the largest expanses of shingle in Europe. A remarkable variety of wildlife live at Dungeness!

Less than 30 minutes by car is the Ashford McArthur Glen Designer Outlet offering fantastic discounts on great brands, including Ralph Lauren, Abercrombie & Fitch and Superdry.

There are several quintessential Kent towns well worth a visit slightly further afield from Hythe - Rye is stunning, with its meandering cobbled streets and lovely shops and Tenterden makes for a wonderful afternoon out.

Hythe itself has plenty of eateries to suit all tastes - there are several tea shops and cafes serving great coffee and good food - Gingers Kitchen is particularly good, and just a 5 minute walk from the house. For a great meal out, The Hythe Bay Seafood Restaurant is 2 minutes from the house and very well rated. The Hythe Brasserie is perfect for a special occasion, as is The Hythe Imperial Hotel or you could try Coppers or Thailand Tom for good Asian cuisine. There are also plenty of good pubs around serving cold beer and good food!

Hythe is a 10 minute drive from the M20 motorway at junction 11, giving you quick and easy access to the whole of the Kent, and up towards the M25 and London.
