Welcome to our Resorter Cottage, a property of Green Buoy Resort. This end unit cottage is our most private, comfortable & cozy. Enjoy Portage Lake views from your patio with a morning coffee or kick off your shoes, toss a steak on the grill & relax by the campfire. Guests love swimming in our vintage Esther Williams pool. This is the perfect landing spot for day trips along M22, the scenic route of Northern Michigan. Explore by bike, hike Sleeping Bear Dunes, or golf at nearby Arcadia Bluffs.

The space
The Resorter Cottage is part of The Green Buoy Resort. Our place was created with adults in mind for restful getaways and rejuvenation. We promote a relaxing space to unwind without the joyous sounds of the youngest generation. This place is just for you! There are 6 cottages on the property, each with a different design & layout. The owner's Chalet sits up front followed by our smaller cottages. Our guests share the resort amenities. The owners, Wendy and David, live in the main cottage. We are Super Hosts and have been sharing our love of Northern Michigan offering restful cottage stays since 2018. We look forward to hosting you!

PLEASE NOTE: Our entire property is 100% NON SMOKING/VAPING. If you are a smoker, please book a different property. Our property is for adults only please, respectfully decline infants/children/teens/fur babies/pets/animals ~ even the well behaved ones. Your stay will be terminated for any violations with no refunds.

WELCOME!

Fall in love with this vintage nautical cottage reminiscent of a 1950's boathouse. This is our end unit and is the largest, most private cottage. This nicely appointed cottage is closest to the woods and boasts modern amenities along with vintage finds reflecting the owners love of restoration marine hardware.

This nautical retreat features painted floors with throw rugs, decor from classic wood boats, kitchen lighting made from ropes and shelving crafted from reclaimed wood from the property. Original windows restored to let lake breezes in and a screen door that slams just like a cottage door should.

The cottage has a small but thoughtfully completed kitchen. The cutest little 4 burner stove and oven, mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, tea pot, toaster, knives, pots, pans, dinnerware, serving pieces and utensils. You'll find pot holders, paper towels, dish towels and dish soap too. The galley wouldn't be complete without a nautical ice bucket, wine glasses, beer glasses, juice glasses, shot glasses and can koozies. Did somebody say boat drinks?

The sleeping area features a queen size zero gravity bed. This allows the guest to raise the head and foot of the bed putting the body into a relaxing zero gravity position - a relaxing treat! Turn the wall mounted television either towards the bed or the couch. The smart tv is ready for you to log in to your streaming apps (no cable).

Your private bath has a walk in shower (no tub), a repurposed little blue sink and countertops made from barn wood. Far from a poop deck and more like a head, this little bathroom will get the job done.

The living area features a comfy loveseat with two reclining sections to put your feet up. Ease into the brightly colored chair and dive into a good book or drool over the old boat magazines. The dining table is a great spot for a card game or two.

Our charming little woodside cottage has a window a/c unit (summer season), and a ceiling fan to keep you cool. From barometers to buoys, our Resorter cottage will have you longing for classic boats, simpler times and tall glasses of lemonade. Easy cottage living invites you to slide into your perfect vacation mode.

OUTDOOR SPACES:

After a day of hiking, biking and exploring, kick off your shoes, it's time to chop the veggies and grill the steaks. Your outdoor space has its own Weber gas grill and patio table. Feel free to snip some fresh herbs for your dinner from our little herb garden.

Enjoy our seasonally open, spring fed swimming pool. We are celebrating the 70th anniversary of our vintage Esther Williams pool this summer! See if you can spot the original plaque as well as her signature ledge that goes all the way around the 9' deep end and the steps with her name on them in the shallow end. We take great pride and extra care in opening the pool each season. As this is northern Michigan, our season is short, Memorial Day to Labor Day so don't miss out! The pool isn't heated but gets full sun so the pool water is warmer than the lake.

We provide lounge chairs, umbrellas, pool floats and a perfect backdrop for your photos. Our grassy courtyard has space for games and a gorgeous view of Portage Lake if you just want to stare at the water for the afternoon. The courtyard firepit is a great place to roast s'mores after dinner, meet your cottage neighbors and toast to a great vacation day. We provide the firewood so you can just relax. Bring your own hammock for a lazy afternoon in the shade of the large trees out back.
