Find peace and quiet at the simple cottage in the forest. Here under the stars, you can focus on nature, writing, creating or your own inner self. The cottage belongs to the farm Lilla Utön where we live all year round, but is on its own with the best view with deer, horses and birds just outside the windows. The standard is wonderfully simple with an outdoor toilet and without running water (but with electricity) – part of the charm. At Ängsö Nature Reserve, the houses are protected as cultural heritage and there is a lot of history. Sauna available.

The space
Lilla Utön's cottage is cozy and spartan with:

- a hall with cute windows
- a kitchen with fridge and freezer, stove, microwave, small oven, dining area.
- a large room with a tiled stove, bed chair, desk/dining area, sofa bed and 120 cm bed
- a small bedroom with a 90 cm bed
- a small space with dishwater in buckets (no running water) and sink. In summer, the sink can be moved outdoors – cozy!
- possibility of outdoor fire pit
- possibility of barbecue outdoors
- possibility of a simple outdoor shower
- possibility to rent a sauna (booked in advance)
- old-fashioned outdoor toilet in a shed a few meters into the forest behind the cabin
- parking in our courtyard
- patio and private garden
- forest area with evening sun and views of fields and forest
- small TV (only works with DVD)
- extra electric heater
- books and games

Guest access
You have access to the entire cottage and the cottage's plot.
Parking space is available in our courtyard.

Other things to note
It's an old cottage, with a holiday home standard. Bring indoor shoes or slippers, even in the summer.

Please note that at this time there is only an old-fashioned outdoor toilet and only a very simple outdoor shower and buckets. However, Lake Mälaren is about a 20-minute walk away, so an evening swim in the lake as a wash is an option! If you want to shower properly, there are nice bathhouses in both Västerås and Enköping. You have the option to rent a wood-fired sauna for an extra fee, ask us before or upon arrival.

At Ängsö, there is poor reception for the vast majority of telephone subscriptions. Bring your own mobile WiFi if you want some internet boost. Or choose to disconnect from the outside world for a while.

At Ängsö, there may also be power outages sometimes.
