A two bedroomed self - catering Cottage overlooking Loch Ken, situated on the A713 on the outskirts of Crossmichael village.
Private Off road Car Parking.
Crossmichael village has a Shop/ Off Licence /Post Office and The Thistle Inn, a short walk from Ferngrove.
We are approximately 3 Miles from the bustling ' Food Town 'of Castle Douglas. Close to the Galloway Forest Park and the beautiful beaches of the Solway Coast.

The space
We offer a cosy Self contained, two bedroomed Cottage, all on one level.
Both bedrooms in Loch View have a King size zip/ link bed which can also be made up as two singles if required. Ample drawer/ hanging space , Hairdryer. USB charging.
One bedroom is adjacent to the bathroom. The second bedroom overlooks the Loch and Garden.
Please let us know before arrival if single beds are required in either bedroom.
Well equipped dining kitchen, with Electric oven, Gas hob, fridge freezer, microwave, slow cooker, coffee machine and washing machine. This cottage does NOT have a dishwasher.
Spacious bathroom with low access double size shower. Heated Towel Rail, Shaving Point.
Comfortable lounge with Gas fire, Tv and DVD player.
Stunning views from the lawned garden which has a small private patio.
Shed for Bike /Bait storage with a fridge/freezer.
Large off road car park.
Free wi-fi.

We are located on the A713, we can be found on Google Maps and Google Earth if you would like to check the exact location.

Guest access
The Cottage has a separate access/ front door, and has its own garden, the only shared space is the car park.
We have a small barbecue which you are welcome to use in the garden, please ask.
There is a garden shed for your use if you require storages for bikes or fishing tackle, it has a fridge freezer for bait storage.

We are able to accommodate groups of up to eight people in two cottages, according to availability . Please see our listing for KIRK View at Ferngrove on Airbnb .

We are a rural location and do NOt have Superfast Broadband, we do have hardwired Wi-Fi routers in each cottage. There are USB charging points in the cottage.

KIRK View is our dog friendly cottage, we do not allow dogs in LOCH View.
No Smoking and No burning of Candles please.

We have a THREE night minimum stay.

We are located on the A713. In the village of Crossmichael, 3 miles from Castle Douglas. We are situated in an ideal area for many different outdoor activities. Fishermen, Walkers, Golfers, Photographers, Cyclists and Bird watchers can all find something to suit their interests. Loch Ken Marina and Crossmichael Marina are close by where it is possible to hire a boat. The Solway Coastal path for walkers, the Ospreys at Loch Doon and at Threave Castle and the Galloway Kite trail for birdwatchers. Threave Gardens and Logan Botanical Gardens are nearby too.
Various water sports and activities are available at the Galloway Activity Centre, Art galleries in Kirkcudbright and Books in Wigtown. The seven stanes cycling trail is within a short distance.

Carole and Graham are delighted to welcome you to Ferngrove Cottage, we have two cottages available at Ferngrove, Loch View and Kirk View. Both are set in pretty gardens and have stunning views over Loch Ken and the surrounding countryside. We live in an adjoining cottage. We love entertaining, and have both spent many years in the hospitality industry, running pubs and small hotels. Our interests are walking, gardening, motorcycling and travel. I am originally from Oxford and Graham is from Leeds, we have previously lived ‘off grid’ in rural France, and more recently lived near Bakewell, in the Derbyshire Dales. We moved to Ferngrove Cottage in Dumfries and Galloway in 2018 and began the ‘creation’ of Ferngrove Holiday Lets. Just outside the 'Food Town ' of Castle Douglas, the area has many activities to offer, fishing , cycling, walking, bird watching, and water sports . It has many places of interest to visit, including nearby Threave House and gardens. We are in the Galloway Forest Park and about 10 miles from the Solway Coast, an area of outstanding beauty.
