Guests say this area is walkable with lots to explore, especially for dining out.
Enter with your passcode and you'll be welcomed by the parlor’s 10-foot ceilings. Your river view, two-bedroom suite, shower/bath and laundry are up the stairs. This landmark home was built in 1875 and is named for Captain Eric Johnson, a Swedish immigrant and riverboat pilot. The kitchenette has a microwave, mini fridge, hot pot and coffee maker. Owner lives onsite per city code, though there are no shared spaces. Astoria Homestay Lodging: 21-03.

The space
The central staircase leads to your living quarters: two bedrooms, a laundry room, kitchenette, and a large bathroom featuring a subway-tiled tub/shower with a window that lets you view passing ships on the Columbia River.

A few blocks away are coffee shops, craft beer, food carts, and the city’s eclectic, independent shopping district. Ambitious visitors can walk up to the Astoria Column. The Astoria Sunday Market is three blocks away and is a must-see in season. If you’re in town for a show at the Liberty Theater, it’s also just a short stroll from here.

The wraparound porch is a favorite spot to relax after seeing the sights. Bike rentals are available nearby. An electric car charging station is just four blocks to the north.
