Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
The first water wheel sawmill was built in Burlington in the late 1880s. Our wheelhouse is a reminder of the rich history of our town. Relax and enjoy the soft trickle of our functioning water wheel while enjoying the view of the harbour from the deck or fire pit. The interior of our wheelhouse offers a unique and functional design, with many reclaimed boards from family homes and wharves over 90 years old. Come explore our town, meet the locals, and enjoy!

Neighborhood highlights

Burlington is located on the Baie Verte peninsula. Combined with neighbouring communities Middle Arm and Smith’s Harbour, there is everything you may need, such as restaurants, convenience stores, and gas stations. In Burlington, go “up the brook” for a swim (just a five-minute walk from your stay!), a summer favourite for locals. Hike Chipp’s Hill which you can see from the deck. Also a easier trail to Two Mile Falls is just a quick walk to the start from our cottage with a beautiful view of the salmon brook. We are also just minutes away from snowmobile and ATV trails. Across the main road, there is a convenience store Harbour View Grocer for all your grocery needs and also a gas station. Don’t forget to check out Limestone Park in Smith’s Harbour and Gaze Point in Middle Arm, you will be glad you did!

Lives in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada
What makes my home unique: Reclaimed boards, colourful designs.
A couple since high school, we have spent our entire lives in the neighbouring towns of Burlington and Smith's Harbour. Bird’s Eye View/ Big Brook Wheelhouse were totally envisioned, designed and built by the two of us. A lot of love went into creating our little places. We enjoy each other’s company and time spent with our family. Our little cabin in the woods is our happy place and the ocean brings us peace. We have a beautiful life!
