The bakery house is an exceptional architect house whose open design is fully designed for brightness. Until 20 years ago, the bakery family of Wewelsfleth lived here, then the owner of the neighboring old ferry house took over the property and realized the dream of a bright "company house". Families and friends will find a beautiful retreat here - just 30 minutes away from Hamburg's city limits.

The space
BEDS AND ROOMS
The bakery with its 250 sqm is at your disposal for private use and can accommodate 12 guests in 6 bedrooms. From the south-facing rooms you have a beautiful view over the sturgeon. 4 of the 6 bedrooms are located in our pointed floor, they are each accessible via wooden ladders and therefore suitable for young and young-at-heart people. Some of the rooms have only minimal soundproofing to the neighboring rooms, as they are separated from the bedrooms below, for example, only by simple floorboards.

In the bakery house itself there is a full bathroom on the upper floor and a toilet on the ground floor. A second full bath can be used in the old ferry house. For this purpose, you have to scramble over the approx. 5 m wide courtyard, secluded from the street and directly behind the entrance of the staircase on the left is the second full bathroom, which may only be used by the guests of the bakery.

The highlight of our living room located on the 1st floor is the glass floor, which opens up the view of the 80 sqm large living and dining room below. Through both rooms, light pours out of the full glazed, garden-facing side of the house.

In the living room of the ground floor there is a fireplace for which we are also happy to provide firewood as needed.

If you need even more space, we offer the apartments "Boven" (19 guests) and "Unnern" (8 guests) in the neighbouring "Alte Fährhaus" and in the Landgasthof Lüders, which is only a 5-minute walk away, up to 5 more rooms can be rented.

GARDEN
The bakery house has a small terrace with BBQ and umbrellas as needed. The terrace is only for you, but does not provide privacy to the other guests that could be on the premises.
The approx. 3000 sqm shared garden below the dike slope, directly behind the house, also offers a lot of space for children. There is also our garden sauna, which can of course be used. Since we rent out two other properties on the property, we are happy to coordinate the usage times with the groups, so there is no overlap.

DORFLEBENIn the cute VILLAGE
of Wewelsfleth, there is a local shop, a fruit and vegetable stand, a bakery, the Landgasthof Lüders and a Greek bistro within 10 minutes walking distance.

SUPS/CANOES/KAYAKS
The property is less than a 5-minute walk from Störr. On request, we are happy to rent up to 10 stand-up paddle boards, 2 canoes and 4 kayaks. Attention: you have to pay attention to the different currents.

ACTIVITIES
The bakery is located directly opposite the small harbor of Wewelsfleth. For enjoying nature, the car can stop: you can get up the river on the Deichkrone or the barely traveled small road towards Bothfleth to a 50-hectare bird sanctuary located in a sturgeon loop. Alternatively, you start the shipyard south along the Stör in the direction of the Elbe River, past the bodywork to Krey's dike shop, which is located behind the Elbe dike. From there, take a small road back to Wewelsfleth.

The town of Glückstadt, invented by the Danish King Christian IV on the drawboard, is only 10 minutes away by car and no further it is to Brokdorf, where in summer a heated outdoor swimming pool on the Elbe beach and in winter an ice rink for the pleasure of young and old.

Here in Glückstadt you can rent bicycles during the tourist information office for 7 EUR per day or 30 EUR per week, with which not only the dikes can be explored excellently. Children's bikes can also be rented there.

If you want to get more circles, you can reach the North Sea at Friedrichskoog in 45 minutes, where you can take mudflats hikes and visit the seal rescue station or the huge indoor playground Willi Wal.

In 60-90 minutes you can reach Germany's largest sandbox - Sankt Peter Ording - or the charming towns of Büsum, Husum, Tönning and Friedrichstadt.

The Elbe ferry Glückstadt-Wischhafen is 10 minutes away by car and takes you to the other side of the Elbe, where Stade with its picturesque city backdrop is waiting for you and also a day trip to Cuxhafen is feasible from there.
