This custom-built Cedar Bungalow Cabin was designed to awaken the senses and to allow Texas' natural beauty to inspire & relax the mind/body/spirit. It's a wonderful place to celebrate, to renew & to make memories.
Styled similar to an eco-resort, it is a fusion of cedar walls, oversized windows, unique outside bathroom with compost toilet & shower, private side yard with hot tub, fire pit & magical views from the bed, indootloveseat & hammock! Small charcoal grill outside for cooking-no stove
The space
"We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us..."
This beautiful spot makes for a memorable getaway. What make it extra special in the Cedar Cabin are the views, the outdoor shower, the hidden loungers in the trees, and the private hot tub. Also the hammock is favorite place to daydream, read a book, or nap. If you’re celebrating a special event, ask about our “Petals & Prosecco” package (needs to be requested at least 6 days in advance please).
For our Cedar Cabin Guests.... the cool space comes with comfortable queen-size bed with luxury linens, cute antique love seat, movable dining table (you can easily set it outside), along with a mini-fridge, microwave, sink, Koerig coffee pot, and a foldable chair. The antique side bar is stocked with plates, glasses and silverware. Outdoors there is charcoal grill and an open fire pit with two oversized adirondack chairs (the Cedar Bungalow does NOT have a kitchen). Many guests choose to stay tucked but there are LOTS of great spots to eat in Boerne and/or Bandera!
Breakfast is an OPTIONAL treat and available for $25/couple per day (weekends only).
Also available is our site vibrational massage table which uses therapeutic vibrational acoustics (VAT) to help reduce stress and improve overall wellbeing. It is $45/session / two for $75 / and guest lays comfortably, fully clothed, with shoes off for comfort on the treatment table. Note: this is a non-invasive energy medicine protocol that uses sound and vibration to create balance within the mind and body to complement traditional healing and improve overall well-being and lower stress levels.
For our Guesthaus guests...please know your house is attached to the Main house (host's house) by a lovely SUNROOM that is yours to enjoy for the duration of your stay NEARLY* exclusively.....i.e EXCEPT when the weather is poor (too cold, too wet) and then we reserve the right to serve breakfast in this area between the hours of 8am and 11am for our Cedar Cabin guests. Other than that....this super relaxing area is yours to use privately! Sunroom has a comfortable leather reclining couch, an inside dining table, and an outside dining area space to enjoy coffee or meals in the natural beauty here.
Guest access
The Cedar Cabin is its own small compound, away from the other guests, but please know, other guests are able to see your firepit area and it's chairs from afar (unless you pull chairs back which you can do). We set them for optimum hill top beauty views. The Hot tub and outdoor bathroom are very private. You also have a private "tucked" low sitting lounge area as a second private space.
Please know if you choose to add in the optional artisan breakfast ($25/couple per day) you'd walk bout a 300 foot stone pathway to your host's outdoor dining deck (across the GuestHaus's outdoor firepit area) for al fresco outdoor dining area or if it is too cold or raining, the breakfast will be served in the sunroom attached to the host's dining deck. Other than the community breakfast area, you'll feel very far away from the outside world...or so our guests say : )
Bella Green has multiple buildings on its 10-acre property - your hosts home (they live in the main house), Karen's Art Studio, Mike's Man Cave/Ham Radio room, the Writer/Artist's Guesthaus (connected to the main house by a lovely sunroom), our awesome Cedar Cabin and two long term rentals - a Vintage Gypsy painted RV and our Vista tiny house (on the far side). Please know we are told there is plenty of privacy for all!
Your Cedar Bungalow's hot tub and outdoor bathroom are totally out of sight to the other rentals. Private parking is directly behind the Cedar Bungalow.
Each rental space only allows a maximum of two guests (no noisy parties!) and each one, has their own private outdoor area with individual fire pit.
The "common space" is the host's deck, which is where your delicious artisan breakfast (payable by cash, directly to your hosts when on site) is served daily -- al fresco when the weather is nice (most days!) and the sunroom in inclement weather.
We can now offer massage and energy balancing services by appointment (if renting the Cabin, this is available only outside the normal check in/check out times - or . if you are are in the Guesthaus, we can offer it typically between 10am and 8pm during your stay.
Other things to note:
- FIRE PIT AREA - Your private outdoor fire pit area comes with free firewood, lighter and fire-starter fat wood. We ask that you ALWAYS keep the top spark screen on an open fire to avoid sparks getting out!
- HOT TUB - Only comes with the Cedar Cabin rental. Please ALWAYS keep the heat on (set between 100-102 degrees) and do not turn it off when you go to bed and/or leave. These tubs are very slow to heat up (2-3 degrees per hour). Also, do not use if pregnant, ill, or with excessive alcohol. No glass ever in or around the hot tub please...
- EXERCISE OPTIONS - There are plenty of hilly neighborhood streets to walk and the side road, Valley View, is a great path to explore. The Guesthaus has its own exercise room with yoga mat and hand weights.
- CREATIVITY OPTIONS - Mike is usually up for discussing your writing ventures if you ask. Karen may be to add-in some plein-air or rock painting if her schedule allows. The Guesthaus has a variety of musical instruments for you to borrow if your soul speaks to you that way - drums, baby harp, or bring your instrument and enjoy!
- READING MATERIAL - Just outside our front gate is our "Little Free Library" box where you are invited to TAKE any book you like! Please note: The wellness library resource books are for borrowing only while on the property. You can keep any book from the library box our front.
- TINY SPACES / ART STUDIO TOUR - if any of our other cool spaces are not yet occupied when you arrive, or if they are empty at check-out time, we are happy to give you a tour of these unique spaces on property. Karen may open her Art Room if you'd like to sneak a peek there too.
- CONSIDERING GETTING INTO B&B? - Karen is and Air Ambassador and is available to help you launch "well". If you have not started a host site, she has a special code that helps compensate her for helping you.
- EXCESS TRASH - You are always welcome to put excess tied trash in the bed of the truck near the front entrance, or in the cans behind the Bungalow.
Other things to note
Please know this is a rural property and any walking is at your own risk. Our hills are steep and rocky! Also there may be deer, rabbits, daddy long leg spiders, Texas tree lizards, porcupines, fireflies and/or other assorted critters in or on the property.
We believe in biodiversity and tend to let natural grasses grow...this allows our dormant wild flower seeds to thrive best.
Bella Green makes a great central spot for exploring our sister cities, the greater hill country area, or you may opt to simply stay put and make it a STAY-cation.
Check in is anytime after 3:00 pm and before 10pm. We encourage you to get here before sunset as they are often spectacular! Check out time is Noon for all guests. GPS generally does a fine job, but if it suggests you drive down Bump Gate Road, CALL US. That route no longer works to get here.
Wifi is bellagreen (network) and bellagreen (password).
